The finding of one stolen Murphy.
Murphy's family contacted me after seeing a lost dog telephone pole flyer I had placed not far from their home. Murphy had been stolen from his fenced front yard in broad daylight, his family unable to keep up with two individuals who had lifted him from his yard. Thinking that their stolen dog Murphy looked somewhat like the dog on the flyer, they phoned me to ask that I keep an eye out for Murphy as well. |
| After hearing their good description of Murphy, I did remember in my search for the other dog on my flyer that I had seen a dog possibly being that of Murphy inside an un-curtained tiny motel window. Just after having spoken with Murphy's family I received a phone call from a person who gave their address as that of the motels. He was inquiring about the reward for the lost dog I had delivered a flyer for, which of course was not Murphy. Realizing this had be the individuals who had taken Murphy and now trying to pass Murphy off to me as the lost dog on my flyer and wanting the reward, I took their number and phoned Murphy's family immediately. I advised them that since Murphy had been stolen, and the police had taken a stolen dog report from them, that they phone the police and have them along for their safety as well as Murphy's. Unintentionally and out of fear of not getting their Murphy back they drove to a dark area to meet with the dog-nappers. Murphy's family grabbed Murphy and ran with him back to their vehicle, leaving quickly taking Murphy to the safety of their home. This story could have had a very tragic ending for Murphy and his family had the dog nappers become aggressive as these individuals were expecting a reward to be handed over to them in their return of Murphy. Please remember to take all safety precautions when recovering your lost pet. I am very happy this story has a great ending for Murphy and his wonderful family. |
